October Events Update

Published: 22 September 2022

Princes Risborough Town Council will be holding not one but two events on Saturday 29th October. Risborough residents, families, and friends are invited to attend our popular Farmers Market at King George V Park on Wellington Avenue from 09:00-14:00 and take part in our Halloween Trail along the Princes Risborough High Street from 13:00-16:00.

At King George V Park, we will be joined by both fan-favourites and new vendors selling a wide array of local goodies inclusive of cured meats, gin, spice blends, oils, honey, sparkling wines, craft beers & ales, chutneys, pies, home-produced and locally sourced meats, and a selection of both savoury and sweet treats. Hot takeaway food will also be available!

Little ones are bound to be entertained by Basil and Crews Educational Mobile Farm. Basil the Shetland Pony and his crew of fluffy and furry friends will be joining us from 09:00-14:00 helping all ages gain confidence at their own speed, learning how to safely interact with the present farm animals. It will be a lovely opportunity for all to learn more about and feed these gorgeous animals. First Steps Pre-School will also be running a themed crafts stall throughout the event.

During the final hour of the Farmers Market, accompanied children are invited to start our Halloween Fancy Dress and Shop Window Art Trail at the Farmers Market.

We will have a tent set up at the Farmers Market where accompanied children will be able to collect their trail map and a treat box that is perfect for collecting all their goodies! From there, head to the High Street to find all the bats in the shop windows. All children returning their completed entry forms to the haunted house tent in front of the library before 4.00pm will receive a treat bag. The Halloween Trail will be running from 1pm-4pm in Princes Risborough High Street.

Accompanied children are invited to participate in a trail where they need to find all the little black bats in High Street shops window art displays. Entry form will be available from the haunted house tent positioned outside the front of Princes Risborough Library from 13:00. All children returning their completed form to the high street tent before 16:00 will receive a treat bag.

We encourage everyone to dress up in Halloween costumes and remind guardians to bring a pen or pencil for each child completing the trail. Extra wrapped treats may be available from retailers along the way.

We are pleased this event can return after the success of last year where we were joined by over 300 accompanied children throughout the three hour window.

A friendly reminder that there is limited parking along the High Street and no parking at the Farmers Market. We encourage attendees, where possible, to utilise public transport or walk, cycle, or scoot the event. If driving is necessary, there are two Buckinghamshire Council owned car parks within walking distance - the Mount and Horns Lane Car Parks. Charges apply at both of these Car Parks, please check the signage for more information.

Make sure to stop by our beautiful and vibrant High Street during your visit and meet our wonderful and friendly retailers!

Have you tried our new Heritage Trail App yet? We are encouraging residents, families, and visitors of Princes Risborough to venture outdoors this autumn and uncover the treasures of season and historical gems through our Heritage Trail App. The app currently has two trails, a children’s treasure trail, and a flat walking town trail. A newly added walking route will take users throughout Princes Risborough toward the Whiteleaf Cross. We welcome user feedback on this third route as it has been added on a trial basis. The trail is currently available to download for free from both iOS and Android app stores on your mobile phone. Just search for Princes Risborough Heritage.
