D-Day Commemorative Beacon Lighting

Princes Risborough Town Council has announced plans to light a Beacon for the 80th anniversary of D-Day on the evening of Thursday, June 6th, 2024.

 

The Beacon is one of many being lit across the Nation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. D-Day on 6 June 1944 was the largest Naval, Air, and land operation in history.

 

Residents and friends of Princes Risborough are invited to join Princes Risborough Town Council in the Stratton Memorial Garden, Long Hide, HP27 0JX from 8:15PM for a 8:30PM start on the evening of Thursday, June 6th, 2024. The Beacon will be lit later in the evening at 9:15PM following a series of readings.

 

The Nation will also come together at 9AM on Thursday, June 6th, to raise the ‘Flag of Peace’. Princes Risborough Town Council will raise and fly the ‘Flag of Peace’ in Duke Street Gardens.
